Hiking

In the environment of De Haeghehorst, there are beautiful walking routes to explore. From the campsite in Ermelo there are beautiful walking routes of about 4 km. Furthermore, there are various other walking possibilities in the Veluwe area. Walk through meadows, forests, heathland and along country estates. You are bound to meet animals along the way!

Walking route Green (4 km)

Starting point: Car park at P. Jacobcatslaan

This route is very varied. You walk through beautiful coniferous and deciduous forests and the paths are easy to walk on. There are also many benches along the route.

Walking route Blue (4 km)

Starting point: P-place along the Drieeërweg

This route is very well signposted and easy to walk on fine forest paths. In the middle of the forest you can see burial mounds. This route ends at the sheepfold.

Walking route White (3 km)

Starting point: Car park at the Drieeërweg

This walk starts at the Toverberg. The route has good forest paths and is clearly signposted. On the way, you will come across two burial mounds.

Walking route Yellow (4 km)

Starting point: Car park at the Ericalaan/Champignonlaan

You start this route on the right-hand side of the sandy field. Halfway there is a large recreation area where children can have fun in the playground. At the end of this route you can follow walking route red, but then you will have to turn left.

Klompenpaden

'Klompenpaden' are footpaths that are open between sunrise and sunset for walkers who love peace and quiet and landscape and are mainly found in Utrecht and Gelderland. The paths you walk on are unpaved, historic paths and sometimes go through meadows with cattle; a unique combination of walking! Walking along a Klompenpad is varied and sometimes 'adventurous'. Think of climbing fences, crossing exciting bridges or walking straight through a herd of cows. Put on sturdy walking shoes and the right clothes!

Geocaching

What is geocaching? Geocaching is actually a treasure hunt based on GPS coordinates. You can get started via your GPS or smartphone. The fun part of geocaching is that you do not know what you are looking for, but of course you get help like the geocache size and attributes. The aim is simple: someone hides a treasure (geocache) and it must be found! The geocache always includes a logbook in which you can enter your geocaching name and the date of the find.
